OUR MISSION

The mission of the Conant Gardens Neighborhood Development Corporation is to restore and promote a safe quality of life in Conant Gardens through affordable housing rehabilitation and education to expand skills, improve health outcomes and and increase knowledge of needed resources with a primary focus on low-income families, senior citizens, and our youth.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to have a Conant Gardens District with beautiful, self-sustained neighborhoods that embrace pride and a sense of community and enables individuals and families to thrive.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Completed the rehabilitation of 18520 Norwood

  • Winning MSU planning practicum

  • Partnered with Gleaners to establish Vernon AME as a hub for food distribution for low-income seniors

  • Awarded 5013c status

  • Numerous grant wins

Where we’re aiming

  • Power mapping within Conant Gardens through meaningful collaboration with other organizations in the neighborhood.

  • Creating a collation of like-minded organizations within District 3 as a means to consolidate voting power, knowledge, and resources around key issues within our district.

  • Working closely with relevant City of Detroit departments to restore amenities like parks and more pedestrian friendly streets to the neighborhood.

  • Working within the community to cultivate opportunities for recreation for not only youth but also our seniors.
